B.Pharm Entrance Exams in 2020

B.Pharm is gaining popularity among the students who wish to pursue acareer in the pharmacy sector. The healthcare sector of India is booming day by day and creating a lot of jobs in the country. After the completion of the Pharmacy course, there are many lucrative jobs in the pharmaceutical sector and the number is expected to rise in the coming years.

Generally, the students have to take entrance tests for getting into pharmacy colleges. There are state-level pharmacy entrance examinations as well which are along the same line as Engineering entrance tests. There are also centralised counselling facilities for students appearing for common entrance tests for pharmacy. However, there are facilities for direct admission and institute-examination based admissions for B.Pharm courses. Some of the major B.Pharm entrance examinations are mentioned below:

Important Dates for B.Pharm Entrance Exams 2020

Check out the important dates for B.Pharm entrance exams 2020 here. Some of the B.Pharme exams such as MHT-CET, GUJCET, AP EAMCET have been postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Some of the B.Pharm entrance exams have been postponed again as the number of Coronavirus is increasing. The revised dates for some of the B.Pharm entrance exams are out.

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) 2020

The WBJEE examination is taken for admissions in Engineering, Pharmacy and Architecture streams in West Bengal. The examination is conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB). This is a state-level examination with domicile characteristics.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The student must be a domicile of West Bengal or must have completed class 12th from a school in West Bengal.
  • The candidate must have had PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) in class 12th.

Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET) 2020

The Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET) examination is conducted by the directorate of technical education in Gujarat. The examination is conducted to fill B.Pharm seats in various institutes in Gujarat which offer B.Pharm courses. The examination is also for admissions in Gujarat state engineering colleges. The GUJCET exam date has been postponed again and the exam will now take place on August 24, 2020

Eligibility Criteria

  • The student must be a domicile of Gujarat or must have completed class 12th from a school in Gujarat.
  • The candidate must have had PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) in class 12th.

Birla Institute of Technology Science Admission Test (BITSAT) 2020

The Birla Institute of Technology Science Admission Test known as BITSAT is taken for admissions in various campuses of Birla Institute of Technology (BITS). The examination is taken per year by the institute for filling the seats of B.E., B.Pharm, and M.Sc Programs in the various campuses of the institute. This is an institute level examination for admissions but the student who has a good score in national level examinations is exempted from this exam.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The student must have completed the class 12th.
  • The candidate must have had PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) in class 12th.
  • For students who are appearing for the 12th board and still studying in 12th with the above-mentioned combination are also eligible to apply. However, they will be selected only after they clear the 12th boards.

Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET or MAHA-CET) 2020

The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test which is also known as MHT-CET or MAHA-CET is taken every year to fill the seats of engineering and pharmacy courses in the colleges of Maharashtra. Primarily, all the government colleges and most of the private colleges in Maharashtra offering B.Pharm accept the scores of MHT-CET.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The student must be a domicile of Maharashtra or completed his 12th class schooling from a school situated in Maharashtra.
  • The candidate must have had PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) in class 12th.

Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE)

UPSEE or Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination is taken every year for conducting admissions into engineering and pharmacy Colleges situated in Uttar Pradesh. This is one of the most common exams for which a lot of students appear for.UPSEE B.Pharm entrance exam has been postponed again due to COVID-19 crisis and the exam will take place on September 20,2020.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The student must be a domicile of Uttar Pradesh or completed his class 12th from a school in UP.
  • The candidate must have had PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) in his 12th class

Telangana State Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET)

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) conducts the Telangana State Engineering, Agricultural ad Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET) every year in Telangana. The examination is a state level examination to fill the technical and pharmacy course seats in the state. The TS EAMCET exam was constituted along the similar lines as Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (AP EAMCET) after the separation of the state from Andhra Pradesh. The revised date for TS EAMCET exam has been announced and the exam will take place on September 09, 10, 11 & 14.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The student must be a domicile of Telangana or completed his 12th class schooling from a school in Telangana
  • The candidate must have had PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) in class 12th.

Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (AP EAMCET)

The Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (AP EAMCET) examination is also conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) which also conducts TS EAMCET. The AP EAMCET exam has been postponed again due to COVID-19. The new exam date has been announced and it will take place from 17-25 September 2020.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The student must be a domicile of Andhra Pradesh or completed his class 12th from a school in Andhra.
  • The candidate must have had PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) in class 12th.

Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET)

The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) conducts the KCET examination and for filling the engineering and pharmacy sats in the state. Students can attempt the examination after passing Karnataka PUC II or any other 10+2 level exam recognised by KEA.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The student must be a domicile of Karnataka or completed his class 12th from a school in Karnataka.
  • The candidate must have had PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) in class 12th.

Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE)

The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination Board (OJEEB) conducts the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) every year for students who want to get into engineering and pharmacy courses in Odisha colleges. The examination is also conducted for admission in Architecture courses admission in the state.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The student must be a domicile of Odisha or completed his class 12th from a school in Odisha.
  • The candidate must have had PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) in class 12th.

Except for the above-mentioned examinations, there are many university or institute level examinations which are conducted. There are also other state-level entrance tests such as Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Lateral Entry (BCECE LE), Himachal Pradesh Combined Entrance Test (HPCET), Uttarakhand State Entrance Examination (UKSEE), etc.

KEAM 2020

KEAM is a state-level entrance examination conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE), Kerala. The exam is conducted for candidates who wish to pursue courses in Engineering, Agriculture, and Pharmacy.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidate must have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or its equivalent examination.
  • Candidate must have secured 50% marks in Mathematics separately and 50 % marks in PCM (short for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) subjects together. 5% relaxation in minimum marks for reserved category applicants.
